I have two of these. First off Radiant heat is the way to go rather than blue flame. Heat spreads nicely.
One unit is in the basement. Last winter was the coldest winter in 30 years. This old house would have had frozen pipes had it not been for the one I set up in the basement. Set at the lowest setting it kept the pipes from freezing.
The second unit I used to heat a 18' x 20' room last winter. Worked nicely for that. This one was connected to a 30lb propane tank which lasted two weeks during the coldest times, much long when not as cold.
I also have a Empire HR18T which is back up heat for when the power goes out. Last year we lost power once for an extended period of time the HR18T kept the main part of the house pleasant.
